Alcohol & Drug Training

LifeServices offers the following programs specifically geared towards the issue of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace:

Reasonable Suspicion Supervisor Training
This 2-hour training session meets the requirements under the Department of Transportation (DOT)* and the Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) Drug-free Workplace (DFWP) Program** in providing supervisors with training on alcohol misuse and controlled substance use. The training assists supervisors in determining whether reasonable suspicion exists to require an employee to undergo alcohol and other drug testing. The training includes the physical, behavioral, speech and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse and/or use of controlled substances. LifeServices will provide a certificate of completion to each attendee. (The basic training for non-DOT/non-DFWP is also two (2) hours in length.)

Employee Education
This one (1) or two (2) hour educational session meets the requirements under DOT and BWC's DFWP Program** to provide employees with information, training and referral resources. (The basic education for DOT and non-DFWP is one (1) hour in length.)

Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Services:
LifeServices provides SAP assessment and case management services as mandated by the BWC and the DOT Regulations for persons who test positive for prohibited substances.

*  DOT requires two (2) hours of initial supervisor training.

** BWC's DFWP Program requires four (4) hours of supervisor training in the first year, then two (2) hours each successive year. Employees, including supervisors, must have two (2) hours of education, then two (2) hours in each successive year.
